Kurri Preschool provides a play based early education program to the children and families in our community that we strive to make accessible and affordable. It is a not for profit, community managed service which respects diversity.
Acknowledgement to Country
Kurri Kurri & District Preschool staff and management acknowledge the traditional owners of this land and neighboring tribes, the Awabakal, Darkinjung and Wonnarua people, their language and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Kurri Kurri Preschool recognises Australia’s First Peoples and is committed to Reconciliation. The Director, Teachers, Educators and Management Committee promote innovative and research-based practices that take into account children’s interests, strengths, real needs and expressed wishes. Our practices follow ECA Code of Ethics, the United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights, The Early Years Learning Framework, National Regulations and the National Quality Standards, ECA Supporting Young Children’s Rights statement of intent, Australian Professional Standards for Teachers along with drawing on our knowledge and experiences that we continuously develop together with children, families and our community.
Our outdoor play area is spacious and full of opportunities for meaningful learning. Our risky play environment allows for children to engage in experiences like tree climbing and creating their own play ideas with loose parts.
